New England Regional Training Center

Starting today April 18th, Brown University will be hosting the New England Regional Training Center. This will give high school wrestlers (within a 250 mile radius) the opportunity to train alongside some of the best wrestlers in the area, Brown University college athletes and graduated college athletes training to compete internationally. Below are the criteria to compete in the Regional Training Center.

An Established National Team Contender shall be considered a wrestler who
Meets at least one of the following competitive accomplishments within the last four calendar years:

• Won at least one match at a USAW World or Olympic Team Trials
• Placed top 8 at USAW Senior Open Championships
• Placed top 8 at USAW University National Championship
• Placed top 8 at FILA Junior National Championship
• Placed top 8 at USAW Junior National Championship
• Placed top 8 at USAW Cadet National Championship
• Placed top 4 in the High School State Championship
• Placed top 4 at the Prep National Championships
• Placed top 4 at USAW State Junior freestyle/Greco-Roman Championships
• Placed top 4 at USAW State Cadet freestyle/Greco-Roman Championships

All wrestlers participating in the RTC practice must meet the above criteria and must be current athlete members of USA Wrestling.

The new RTC head coach is Steve Mocco

Coach Mocco- Head Coach of the New Engalnd RTC, 2008 Olympian, 2x NCAA Champion & 4x NCAA All-American at Iowa & OSU

We also currently have two athletes competing in senior level competition:

Dylan Cottrell - NERTC Athlete - 3x NCAA Qualifier, 2017 BIG12 Champion & SoCon Champion at West Virginia University

Donald McNeil - NERTC Athlete - 2017 US Open Placewinner & Maccabiah Games Champion, NCAA Qualifier & Midlands Placewinner at Rider University
