The composure shown by Kevin Jack was tremendous. He wrestled like a 5th year senior. Awareness af the score and where he was at that level means great things are in his future. Unfortunately Boyle was down 4-0 quickly and couldn't recover. Hope he comes back all the way but both Delgado and Garrett are in the bottom.

Sean won't see Garrett or Delgado unless he's already AA.

Kevin Jack who was unseeded and 30-8 his freshman year at NC State has beaten the 4, 5 and 12 seeds and is in the semis for 141. He next faces Logan Stieber the #1 seed from Ohio State who is a redshirt senior who went undefeated this year. Kevin won HS New Englands at 126 last year for Danbury CT. Its nuts what he is doing his freshman year going especially since he is wrestling at a higher weight than last year. Vic Avery from Foxboro HS is in the Quarterfinals at 184.

I wouldn't consider him a NE kid.

How many years did Boyle wrestle HS in NE?

I would, his brother wrestled in NE and he did too until they moved, like a few other kids who won here, but then had the talent to get noticed and go to a better school/area for the sport. What if you won a title at North Andover for instance and then moved to a very good Ohio area and High School, then went to a D1 School? Still a NE kid then? Boyle was another kid just like that. He was born and raised in Lowell. If he had stayed at Lowell that could have been two more titles for Lowell at NEs and at least one more team title too, possibly two, but he was a talent on the national level and he went to Blair. That happens, I don't blame them or their coaches for pushing them that way, but I would still consider he and others NE kids. I just think you have to look at the kids, where they grew up and if they take off a year or so early before coming out of a NE High School that doesn't mean they are not NE kids. Just MHO.

If Boyle wins his next match he will make AA status, wish him the best!

I wouldn't consider him a wrestler from NE if he left before high school.

If I remember correctly, Harger's parents are from Ohio. Someone got a job related opportunity to move back and they did. I am not an expert, but at the time I didn't think wrestling in a better state had anything to do with it.

@Carlascooz, fair enough. We all have our cutoffs.

CoachB, might just be on me then and making an assumption based on others who did it in the past and that he went to Archbishop Moeller. I made an assumption so you might be 100% correct, either way, still a great job by him.

Well, they did a nice job of choosing a program after he moved. That is for sure.
I remember having Pierce as a camper at Aaron Polansky's camp in Marlboro. Not a bad staff- Zeke Jones, Kevin Jackson, Kerry McCoy, Jesse Jantzen, Chris Bono, Nate Carr, Sammy Kline... etc, etc, etc
