But it's not a month into the season, how on earth are you able to compile the rankings? Masswrestling should check out your rankings system and perhaps give it's visitors it's most sought after, talked about and fun post that people look for all year.

It's a lot easier to Rank from less than 150 kids than it is in our State. People are busy trying to coach. I don't even know where my kids will be. Kap wrestling has stats and line-ups to get someone started. Jim is always working on it. I'm sure when the New Year turns it will appear. Happy New Year to all.

Glad to see that you still never miss an opportunity...............BTW, every year you see the MAU B team at the Fair Haven Duals and every year you never wrestle them, why? MAU B generally walks away winning that event, why wouldn't you want to wrestle them? Its coming up, maybe give it some thought.

I didn't realize it was a yearly tournament. I just thought we went up there for a few duals and mat time. I didn't realize we were being judged. Maybe we should take things a lot more seriously. BTW where did you wrestle in College?

So thats the bellwether? So now we are in to "Glory Days?" All about you right? Perhaps that is why Mt. Greylock is the perennial power that it has become? Well, you have tried unsuccessfully to dodged the question......Why wouldn't u want mat time with the best team there, get your kids ready, isn't the idea coach? to get the most out of your kids? test them?, or are you just there to take advantage of the very small state that you regularly bash on the internet? Why not take on one of the best teams of the measly 150 wrestlers regardless of the fact that it is a" B" team or not...... Or is that something that your glory days ego will not allow? Put up or nock it off! However, based upon your previous I suspect it maybe something else huh? BTW, never wrestled in college, just capable of recruiting, motivating and empowering young kids to better themselves and excel at a sport that is the most difficult to master all after not wrestling in college. Just nock it off Ray, ok!

While you are at Jeff you should enroll at Mt. Anthony in a writing course to work on your grammar and spelling. Your word usage sucks.

That's the best you have coach? Now answer the original question "oh spell check magi that you are? " You are so close to MAU, why not wrestle the Varsity or at least the "B"team? You are the closest wrestling team to MAU, correct? in a state that only has 150 wrestlers, why wouldn't you wrestle them? Anyone else wonder the same thing?

A hall of fame coach doesn't have to answer to a guy who at best is the 5th or 6th best coach on Mt Anthony. It's real easy for you to glob onto coach legacy's legacy. You are the Fredo of Mt Anthony wrestling coaches. Before you go and criticize a guy who has been a head coach of a program for decades, why don't you put on your big boy pants and go start a program and grow it yourself. Walk a mile in his shoes instead of shining coach legacy's. While Ray is coaching his kids on the mats your moping and taping up Mt Anthony's. Now go get your shine box because coach legacy and the five to six higher assistants in your program did one hell of a job this past weekend at Lowell.

Warp, why do you care who Ray's team wrestles? Are you looking to here that MAU A team is better, or that MAU B team may be better? Well they are prob both better than many schools in NE. There you heard it, does that make you smile? Now stop worrying about who other schools wrestle, and focus on your own. It's like you troll the NE forums looking for arguments regarding MAU. Ive been a coach for 20 yrs, and I wouldn't wrestle MAU if I didn't have the team to. I'll wrestle tough teams to win/lose and get better, but why bring the lamb to the slaughter? What gains do you achieve? So till you put the time in that Ray has put in, and contribute as much as he has to this sport, then you can start being the douche that your being, or not, since thats not what wrestling is about. my 2 cents

Wow, some neighborly love out west..... my suggestion warp57, instead of being a bully publically, instead PRIVATELY invite your neighbors to the south to drive up route 7 and join you for a random Monday practice. You can mix drilling partners and shark bait groups, both teams can learn a little bit and no lambs will be slaughtered. As a community we should be trying to grow the sport of wrestling. Calling people out publically on a forum like you are doing does not grow the sport it creates dividing lines on top of being rather classless (see private message feature).

Is it true that they ran the VT states on 1 mat last year?

This all started because someone (Livesaver) was upset that Mass All State Rankings weren't out compared to VT. Ray stated the obvious that is easier to rank a smaller sample, I don't know if 150 is the correct number?

Warp your too sensitive and think Ray is always throwing stones at MAU or VT, last I heard, Ray was a resident of the great green state of VT.

I do the Div 3 State Rankings it take me hours with about 840 kids and 60 teams. If I did VT with 150 kids compared to a Div 3 sectional with 210 kids and 15 teams it would be a lot quicker too.

So lighten Frances's (livesaver, Ray & Warp)

Jim, you may be on to something about the sensitivity thing. The original poster was simply sharing some information and it exploded from there. We all know VT is most likely one of the smallest if not the smallest wrestling state. I shouldn't have vented about Ray's post on the public forum (we have since vented privately by way of PM). Frustration got the best of me and I apologize for that. When it comes to New England and size, we are still the largest maple syrup producers!

My original post was to once again, albeit passive aggressively, point out that the website dedicated to Massachusetts high school wrestling can't put out a list of kids they believe to be the best. It is not, I can't stress this enough NOT, about the number of wrestlers a state has. Pennsylvania, California, New York, New Jersey, Ohio all have much larger wrestling populations than that of MA and had preseason and adjusted rankings. I don't care about the MAU vs Mt. Greylock beef. I care about the MA wrestlers getting recognition that they are deserved. The kids and coaches work long and hard all year and regardless of the old axiom that "rankings don't matter" they do. They don't make a wrestler better, but they do make a website dedicated solely to high school wrestling better.

Although perhaps not expressed in the most diplomatic way, lifesaver does have a point. I assumed mass wrestling had a ranking committee with several people working on it by division. Is that incorrect. ? Obviously it is a lot of work. Clearly a lot of time is put into d3...which is great.... But it would probably make sense to spread the love across the 3 divisions or recruit more help.... From people with knowledge. ,...if possible

And people wonder why visitor traffic is down on the site... who really wants read through this soap opera? Hopefully everything is hashed out and we can talk wrestling again.
