Can everyone please do me a favor? The administration at my school claims that we are the only wrestling team ever to use the cafeteria as our practice area. Please reply to this post with the name of your school if you too use your cafeteria as your practice room. Thank you very much for your time.

Catholic. Memorial in West Roxbury holds every practice in their cafeteria. If your administration is worried about health concerns because of practice going on, tell them to relax. It is the wrestlers who's health is at risk practicing on mats where every student walks on the floor underneath them every day. Not to mention the food debris and bacteria the is present in cafeterias everywhere. My one suggestion to you as a coach is to use Lysol disinfectant spray after each practice. Eliminates odor and helps keep skin disease at bay.

Southwick has used the cafeteria since the mid 80s, Gateway has used the cafe since 1999, the year it's program started. Franklin Tech or Pioneer (can't recall which) used to wrestle matches in their cafe. I'm pretty sure Granby has used the cafe in the past as well.

I'm 99% sure it was Franklin Tech that used to use their cafe for matches

I spoke directly to the Franklin Tech coach and he said that they use their auditorium for practice and occasionally matches. They have practiced in their cafeteria on a few occasions though when the auditorium is in use for something else. For what it is worth.
