4x Buckeye (NCAA All-American) Lance Palmer improves MMA career to 2-0.

2010 Big Ten 149-pound mat champ Lance Palmer wins 2nd MMA bout at "Fight For Wrestling IV" in San Luis Obispo, Calif. At the event -- a fundraiser for the Cal Poly wrestling program -- Palmer scored a unanimous decision.

With the win, Palmer is now 2-0. The Cleveland area native made his mixed martial arts debut at the "Fight For Wrestling" fundraiser for the California State University, Bakersfield wrestling program in May. Palmer won that match by submission in the first round.

Palmer, a four-time NCAA Division I All-American & 2010 NCAA finalist, is now training at Sacramento-based Team Alpha Male, working with Urijah Faber & Chad Mendes, fellow former wrestlers now in MMA.

Ex-UFC/NCAA Hwt. champ Brock Lesnar to fight Alistair Overeem on Dec. 30th, 2011. Brock Lesnar intends to close out the year back in the octagon.

The former UFC & NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion for the University of Minnesota who has been sidelined by surgery in May, will return to the UFC to face Alistair Overeem. The fight will take place at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. It will be Lesnar's first since losing the UFC heavyweight crown to former Arizona State All-American Cain Velasquez last October.

Overeem, a former Strikeforce heavyweight champ, recently signed with UFC. The 31-year old, 6'5" kickboxing champ from The Netherlands. In a career that spans a dozen years, Overeem has an overall record of 35-11.

Lesnar, 2000 NCAA Division I heavyweight wrestling champ, made headlines with his meteoric rise in MMA competition, has been battling diverticulitis for nearly two years. He has fought just twice since July 2009, most recently forced to pull out of a planned fight with Junior dos Santos in March. Lesnar had a portion of his colon removed in surgery at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota in late May.
