In case coaches have not been given the post season information here it is:

To cut down on the amount of post season weigh-ins, changes have been made to lessen the wrestling during the final three weeks.

A proposal from the coaches executive board was brought to MIAA wrestling committee and has passed unanimously.

Here is the post season.
The last regular season week, is no longer a regular season week, it is now dual tournament. So the regular season will end on Friday February 5th, 2010. NO team will be able to schedule regular season meets after this date.

Saturday February 6th is the dual meet sectional tournament. ALL teams within a section will be allowed to enter the tournament, and all will have multiple matches. Then the winners of the 4 sectionals will move onto the the state semi-finals that Wednesday, 2/10.

This will allow all but 6 teams to be done with team matches prior to individual tournaments beginning.

2/13 is individual sectional tournament, then state, all-state, NE's. Wednesday between sectional and state is the dual finals.

The change does effect scheduling. League tournaments on that final Saturday are out on that weekend, and NO team can wrestle a dual week of individual sectionals. (So if teams opt not to wrestle in dual sectional tournament, they are NOT allowed to schedule meets, there season will be complete and final as of 2/5).

This addresses many of the complaints from previous seasons. Cuts down on the amount of wrestling during the most intense time of the season, and also cuts down amount of weigh-ins.

Also 2/6 is the date of official weight. So 60% applies for that date. Every wrestleer will be locked in as of that date.

Question about post season.

Will the individual sectional tourney need to be scored as the dual tourney decides what teams will advance?
