Dracut High received a transfer from Central Catholic a few weeks ago. It appears that both AD's have signed off for him to wrestle this year but the paperwork seems to be stuck at the MIAA waiting for their approval. The kid wants to wrestle in the Lowell Holiday Tourney but I am told the MIAA is closed.. Any advice from anyone to see if this can get done for this weekend??

No way.

There is a time frame that an athlete has to request a waiver to MIAA. It is usually in fall for the winter season.

If you have filed the paperwork and have not heard than the person cannot compete. I didn't think you could request a transfer this late into a season. But if so, would definitely not be until January.

Have your AD fill out the MIAA paperwork, the waiver process on moves has eased up after the MIAA lost a lawsuit with a kid coming back from a Prep school.

How does the rule apply to a student coming from a prep ( boarding ) school in season, and does the Dec 15th deadline still apply? Thanks.

Because the MIAA loses every time they go to court they enacted rule #200 which states that an athlete can transfer from a private/prep back to public school "once" during his career without having to sit out. The athlete must be in good academic standing at the private/prep school. All that is required is form #200 signed by both principals. I don't think there is a cut-off date.
