This year there are more then normal HS Coaching openings and some programs may not survive if a coach is not found.
When I first started coaching, I knew most HS AD's wouldn't be interested in having a non-teacher coach with crazy work hours. But, the AD at Randolph was desperate and gave me a shot. It took me a while, but I got the hang of it.

This for all you Ex-Wrestlers, take a shot at coaching, in most cases if your the head coach, you can set the practice hours to meet your schedule and if you want be an assistant coach, but can't do all the hours, split it with a friend to help out the team.

So true about the non-traditional practice hours, Jim. I know when Bob Watts took over Duxbury's program, he instituted evening practices and - with the help of the school administration and some able assistants - made those hours work quite well. (I think they might even still have evening practices there)
